8.15 Alarm# 13 Water Recirculation Too Long to Heat
Condition
Water in recirculation system did not reach setpoint temperature within allowed time.
Alarm is triggered by...
WATER RECIRCULATION STEAM VALVE is open and WATER RECIRCULATION RTD input [TE1 (CTRL)] reading does
not reach phase temperature setpoint within allowed time. Allowed time is 12 minutes for steam-heated unit and
40 minutes for electric-heated unit.
General Troubleshooting Additional Information
Water in recirculation system was too long to heat.
1. Press ALARM REPLY on touch screen to stop alarm
buzzer and acknowledge displayed alarm message.
2. Abort cycle.
3. If access to load inside chamber is required, wait
for temperature to cool down prior to opening door
and removing load.
4. Verify water temperature and temperature setpoint
in Supervisor mode.
5. Reset temperature setpoint as required .
6. If condition reoccurs, contact STERIS.
Excessive scale build up in the recirculation piping of
water or water in line heat exchanger.
1. Run a DECONTAM cycle (refer to Section 7.6,
Decontam Cycle).
2. If condition reoccurs, contact STERIS.
8.16 Alarm# 14 Water Recirculation RTD Defective
Condition
Water recirculation RTD wires are shorted or disconnected.
Alarm is triggered by...
WATER RECIRCULATION RTD (CONTROL) input [TE1 (CTRL)] wires are shorted or disconnected. or
WATER RECIRCULATION RTD (PROCESS VERIFICATION) output [TE1 (PV)] wires are shorted or disconnected.
General Troubleshooting
Additional Information
Problem with water recirculation RTD wires.
1. Press ALARM REPLY on touch screen to stop alarm
buzzer and acknowledge displayed alarm message.
2. Abort cycle.
3. If condition reoccurs, contact STERIS.
