8.44 Alarm# 42 PV Thermal Temperature Out of Range
Condition
Thermal phase temperature is out of range for five consecutive seconds after start of phase countdown.
Alarm is triggered by...
• With software 10137926 or 10099413: During the guaranteed phase countdown of an Instrument cycle Thermal
phase, IF variance between WATER RECIRCULATION RTD (PV) reading and WATER RECIRCULATION RTD (CTRL)
exceeds +2.0 °C or -2.0 °C for five consecutive seconds.
• With software 117074357: Typical or INSTRUMENT cycle (if Instrument Washing option is present) thermal phase
time countdown has started and WATER RECIRCULATION RTD (PROCESS VERIFICATION) output [TE1 (PV)]
reading is below phase setpoint for five consecutive seconds. – or –
• With software 117074357, If Instrument Washing option is present: INSTRUMENT cycle thermal phase time
countdown has started and WATER RECIRCULATION RTD (PROCESS VERIFICATION) output [TE1 (PV)] reading is
above phase setpoint +5°C (9°F) for five consecutive seconds. – or –
• With software 117074357: Typical cycle thermal phase time countdown has started and WATER RECIRCULATION
RTD (PROCESS VERIFICATION) output [TE1 (PV)] reading is above phase setpoint + 10°C (18°F) for five
consecutive seconds.
NOTE: This alarm is not monitored for non-guaranteed phases.
General Troubleshooting
Additional Information
Thermal phase temperature is out of range.
1. Press ALARM REPLY on touch screen to stop alarm
buzzer and acknowledge displayed alarm message.
2. Abort cycle.
3. If condition reoccurs, contact STERIS.
