4.35 Emergency Safety Feature Chamber Door Interlock Mechanism
Chamber doors are equipped with a door interlock safety mechanism that prevents load side door from opening at the
same time as the unload side door to avoid cross-contamination. When a cycle is in progress, the door interlock
mechanism prevents either door from being opened without aborting the cycle.
4.36 Emergency Safety Feature Obstruction Sensor
Chamber doors are equipped with an obstruction sensor that detects any door obstruction. If an obstruction is present,
door movement automatically stops then door opens.
IMPORTANT: Even if door is equipped with an obstruction sensor, operator should always keep hands and fingers away from
door or any moving parts to prevent crushing.
4.37 Process Verification (PV)
If washer/disinfector is equipped with a pressure sensor (optional), the process verification (PV) system documents and
measures the parameters of the sump temperature, the pump outlet pressure during the cycles. The system helps
ensure the parameters are within passing criteria during all specific phases. For the INSTRUMENT cycle (Instrument
Wash option required), the volume of detergent injected is also documented and measured by the PV.
A PV record is also generated in pdf format if the PV record option is enabled in Supervisor mode.
The control generates alarms if data recorded independently is out passing criteria. This raises the level of confidence
that the cycle has been successfully completed within predetermined parameters.
