5DX Series 3 Pneumatic Subsystem Components
The air cylinder, shown in Figure 6-7, moves the Inner Barrier into either the open
or closed position. The air cylinder is controlled by an adjustable flow restrictor
valve, shown in Figure 6-8, which receives its signals from the Digital I/O
Assembly.

Shop air flows through a flow restrictor after exiting the Air Cylinder. The flow
restrictor has an adjustment and a locking ring. The collar of the Air Cylinder turns
to adjust the distance that the Air Cylinder’s shaft extends. Turning the collar
clockwise, when facing towards the X-ray Tube, will raise this Inner Barrier half
and push it towards the other half. Turning the collar counter-clockwise will lower
this Inner Barrier half and pull it away from the other half.
