8-16 Imaging Subsystem
Imaging Subsystem Components 5DX Series 3
The X-ray Tube Assembly contains a variety of components that result in the
generation of X-rays. Figure 8-9 shows the components of the X-ray Tube
Assembly.
Figure 8-9: X-Ray Tube Assembly
The X-ray Tube Assembly is comprised of the following components:
• X-ray Tube Pressure Vessel — The enclosure containing the X-ray Tube and
the X-ray Tube Electronics.
• X-ray Tube — The portion of the X-ray Tube Assembly where an electron
beam is generated, accelerated, deflected and converted into X-rays.
• X-ray Tube Electronics — Provide the controls and adjustments required to
generate X-rays.
• X-ray Tube Dielectric Pressure Sensor — Provides monitoring of the inert
dielectric gas pressure within the X-ray Tube Pressure Vessel.
