18.7 Configuring Default Audio Device
The default audio device (speaker or headset) can be configured using the Web interface or
Configuration File.
To configure default audio device using the Web interface:
1. Access the Dialing page (Configuration tab > Voice Over IP menu > Dialing) and
scroll down to Default Audio Device.

2. Configure the parameter using the table below as reference and then click Submit.
To configure default Audio Device using the Configuration File:
• Use the table below as reference.

Parameter Description
Audio Device
[voip/answer_device]
Sets the default audio device to answer or initiate a new call
when no explicit audio device is set.
For example:
When pressing the Answer softkey.
When initiating a call by speed dial key, call history or
phone directory.
Answering talk event or auto-answer.
When starting to dial in 'on hook' mode.
Valid values are:
[SPEAKER]
[HEADSET]
