D.2 Preparing the DHCP Server to Automatically
Provision IP Phones
To prepare the DHCP server:
• Configure DHCP OPTION 160 on the DHCP server. Point the DHCP server to the
URL of the configuration files on the HTTP server.
Use the string <MAC>
For example: http://192.168.2.1/;440HD_<MAC>_conf.cfg
D.3 Making Sure Phones are Correctly Provisioned
To make sure that the phones are correctly provisioned:
1. Connect one of the IP phones to the IP network and power supply.
2. Follow the status displayed on the LCD. Make sure the phone received an IP
address and is upgrading the configuration.
3. The phone reboots with the new configuration.
4. Make sure that all functionalities are functioning flawlessly, e.g., that the phone can
make VoIP calls.
