18.3 Configuring Dial Tones
Dial Tones settings can be configured using the Web interface or Configuration File.
To configure Dial Tones using the Web interface:
1. Access the Dialing page (Configuration tab > Voice Over IP menu > Dialing).

2. Configure the tones parameters using Table 18-3 below as reference, and then
click Submit.
3. Access the Services page (Configuration tab > Voice Over IP menu > Services)
and scroll down to the General Parameters.

4. Configure the tones parameters using Table 18-3 below as reference.
To configure Dial Tones using the Configuration File:
Use Table 18-3 below as reference.
Table 18-3: Dial Tones Parameters
Parameter Description
Dial Tone Timeout
[voip/dialing/dialtone_timeout]
Defines the maximum duration of the dial tone (in
seconds) after which the dial tone stops and a
reorder tone is played.
Range:1 to 300. Default: 30.
Reorder Tone Timeout
[voip/dialing/warning_tone_timeout]
Defines the maximum duration of the reorder tone
(in seconds) after which the reorder tone stops
and a howler tone is played.
Range:1 to 300. Default: 40.
Howler Tone Timeout
[voip/dialing/offhook_tone_timeout]
Defines the duration (in seconds) of the howler
tone. If the limit is exceeded, the howler tone
stops. The howler tone indicates that the phone
has been left in an off-hook state.
Range:1 to 300. Default: 120.
