Disassembly & Assembly Summary 114
4.1 Summary
This section describes the Disassembly and assembly methods for the EPSON Stylus
Pro 10000/10000CF/10600. However, full assembly instructions are not given apart
from following the Disassembly instructions in reverse order, and where special
instructions are necessary, reassembly points are provided.
Where “Caution” and “reassembly” notes are given, be sure to confirm these contents
BEFORE starting the corresponding procedure. Where adjustment procedures are
necessary, “Adjustment Required” notes describe what you need do to. These
adjustment procedures are absolutely necessary and are described in detail in Chapter 5.
Repair cannot be properly performed without carefully following these instructions.
4.1.1 Warnings
Before proceeding with any Disassembly or assembly work, make absolutely sure of
the following.
W A R N I N G
Because the power switch for the printer is established on the
secondary side of power supply circuits, the power cable MUST
be unplugged from the AC outlet unless there are specific
instructions otherwise in order to prevent electric shock and
circuit damage during operations.
The Cover Open Sensor that detects front cover open/closed
condition has interlock functions to serve as a safety device. Do
not disable these switch functions.
A lithium battery is installed on the control circuit board to
support memory backup, so the following cautions must be
followed when handling the board to prevent an accident.
Do not allow a short between battery electrodes.
When removing/installing the battery, do not mistake polarity.
Do not heat battery or throw into a fire.
Do not recharge the battery. (Battery will heat internally and
could explode or catch fire.)
Do not disassemble the battery. (For accident prevention.)
Use caution to prevent ink from contacting eyes or adhering to
skin. If ink contacts eyes, immediately flush with soap and water.
If neglected, eyes can become bloodshot and inflamed.
Immediately consult a doctor if complications arise.
Always ware gloves for disassembly and assembly to avoid injury
from sharp metal edge.
