5.2.3 Firmware Download
With this printer, the firmware is written into the Flash ROM on the C362DRV Board.
When the C362DRV Board is replaced, be sure to write the firmware using the
following methods.
STEPS FOR DOWNLOAD VIA PC
1. With the printer in "Ready," press the "SelecType" button several times to reach
"Printer Status Menu". Press the "Item" button and confirm the version.
2. Turn the printer off and connect the printer to a PC. Use a parallel connection
(compatible mode only).
3. Turn the printer on while pressing the following buttons.
[Paper Source] + [Cut/Eject] + [Cleaning]
4. "Initialize..." will be displayed in the panel. After the Power/Pause LED lights,
send the data for download from the PC with the following command.
At the DOS prompt, type "copy/b [filename] lpt1" and press the "Enter" button.
The panel will change as shown below when data reception begins.
"F/W Download" will be displayed and the Power LED will light.
"Updating C3 F/W..." will be displayed and the Power LED and Ink End "Y"
LED will light. (Photo Accelerator Module equipped models only.)
"Updating C1 F/W..." will be displayed and the Power LED and "LM" LED
will light.
"Updating C2 F/W..." will be displayed and the Power LED and "LC" LED
will light.
"F/W Update Complete" will be displayed and all LED's will flash.
Update is complete at this time.
5. Turn the printer off.
6. Turn the printer on and use Step 1 to confirm that writing has been completed
normally.
RELOAD FROM A MEMORY CARD
1. With the printer in "Ready," press the "SelecType" button several times to reach
"Printer Status Menu". Press the "Item" button and confirm the version.
2. Turn the printer off.
3. Remove the access cover from the rear of the printer. Insert the memory card
(Flash memory card) having the registered memory card-type firmware data into
the card slot (CN26). (Install the memory card surface toward the printer front.)
4. Turn the printer on.
The panel will change as shown below when data reception begins.
"F/W Download" will be displayed and the Power LED will light.
"Updating C3 F/W..." will be displayed and the Power LED and Ink End "Y"
LED will light. (Photo Accelerator Module equipped models only.)
"Updating C1 F/W..." will be displayed and the Power LED and "LM" LED
will light.
"Updating C2 F/W..." will be displayed and the Power LED and "LC" LED
will light.
"F/W Update Complete" will be displayed and all LED's will flash.
Update is complete at this time.
5. Turn the printer off and remove the memory card.
6. Turn the printer on and use Step 1 to confirm that writing has been accomplished
normally.
C A U T I O N
When printer power is on and firmware is downloaded to the
C362DRV Board with no existing parameters, ink initial filling
operations will begin.
Because there are 2 types of firmware data files, one type for PC
download and one type for memory card download, match the
files to the download method. (File extension shows type.)
PC parallel interface (Compatibility mode): xxxxxxxx.IPL
PC memory card: xxxxxxxx.ROM
C A U T I O N
If the update processing is interrupted (the power supply has
been shut off/etc.), it can return by performing same work.
Use the backup card with which firmware is written in only for
"Stylus Pro 10000/10000CF/10600". Do not use the backup card
other than this product.
