7.4.9 Replacing 2.5-inch PCIe SSD modules
I This procedure is valid, if the PCIe SSD module is controlled by an
onboard controller or by a Retimer card.
For more information, see the "NVMe User Guide".
I If the PCIe SSD module is controlled by a RAID controller of the PRAID
EP5x0i family, the PCIe SSD module can be replaced during operation
(hot-plug), see section "Replacing a 2.5-inch HDD/SSD module" on
page 161.
V CAUTION!
● All HDD/SSD modules (drives) must be uniquely identified so that
they can be reinstalled in their original bays later. If this is not done,
existing data can be lost.
7.4.9.1 Preliminary steps
Ê "Locating the defective server" on page 47
Ê Identify the physical location of the defective PCIe SSD module, see section
"2.5-inch HDD/SSD configurations" on page 148 and the "NVMe User
Guide".
Ê Prepare the removing of the defective PCIe SSD module, see the "NVMe
User Guide".
Ê Depending on your operating system (see the "NVMe User Guide"),
"Shutting down the server" on page 49.
7.4.9.2 Removing the defective 2.5-inch PCIe SSD module
Ê Remove the PCIe SSD module, see section "Removing 2.5-inch PCIe SSD
modules" on page 165.
