5.9 Knife Drive System
5.9.1 Knife Drive Box

Double-knife headers have a knife drive box at each end.
Knife drive boxes are belt driven by a hydraulic motor, and
convert rotational motion into the reciprocating motion of
the knife.
Checking Knife Drive Box
Single-knife headers have one knife-drive box and double-knife headers have two knife-drive boxes. To access the
knife drive box(es), endshield(s) must be fully opened.
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of machine, always stop engine and remove key
before making adjustments to machine.

1. Press down on the latch in the opening (A) on the
inboard side of the endsheet.
2. Pull endshield open using handle depression (B).
