16.1 Introduction
In this chapter we describe how to clean and disinfect the TM80 and its accessories.
16.2 Safety Information
CAUTION
• Use only Mindray approved cleaners and disinfectants and methods
listed in this chapter to clean or disinfect your equipment. Warranty
does not cover damage caused by unapproved substances or methods.
• Mindray makes no claims regarding the efficacy of the listed chemicals
or methods as a means for controlling infection. For the method to
control infection, consult your hospital’s infection control officer or
epidemiologist.
• Non-medical equipment does not provide the same level of protection
against electrical shock. Do not touch the patient and any part of
nonmedical equipment at the same time. Some examples of non-
medical equipment are laser printers and nonmedical computers.
• The responsible hospital shall carry out all cleaning and disinfection
procedures specified in this chapter.
• Avoid use of cleaners, materials or chemicals that may damage
equipment surfaces, labels, or cause equipment failures.
• Never immerse any part of the equipment or accessories in liquids or
allow liquid to enter the interior.
• Do not pour or spray any liquid directly on the equipment or accessories
or permit fluid to seep into connections or openings.
• Remove the equipment from use if liquid is spilled on the equipment or
accessories. Contact your service personnel.
• Check the equipment after cleaning and disinfecting. If there is any sign
of damage, remove it from use.
