5.6 Discharging the Patient
Discharging the patient will stop monitoring at the TM80 and CMS. After discharging the
patient, the patient’s configuration is cleared at the TM80. The TM80 can admit next new
patient by applying the user configuration. If the TM80 does not save the user configura-
tion, it will apply the factory configuration for the new patient.
You can discharge the patient by selecting the Discharge Patient menu or restarting
the TM80.
5.6.1 Selecting the Discharge Patient Menu
To discharge a patient via the Discharge Patient menu, follow this procedure:
1. Enter the Discharge Patient menu in either of the following ways:
â—† Swipe your finger up at the bottom of the main screen to display the quick
keys area →tap Discharge Patient.
◆ Press the key to enter the main menu →tap Discharge Patient.
2. In the Discharge Patient confirmation menu, tap Ye s .
â—† The patient is discharged from both the TM80 and the CMS.
◆ The patient’s configuration is cleared and the default departmental settings
are restored.
◆ The Discharged Patients window of the CMS adds a record of the patient’s
history data.
5.6.2 Restarting the TM80
To restart the TM80, follow this procedure:
1. If the TM80 is powered off, press the key to turn on the TM80.
The device prompts whether this is a new patient or not.
2. Select Ye s if this is a new patient.
3. Select Ye s when asked to confirm that the discharge should begin.
NOTE
• When the TM80 is connected to a CMS, the patient being discharged
from the TM80 is also discharged from the CMS. Refer to BeneVision Cen-
tral Monitoring System Operator’s Manual for details.
