4.7.3 Adjusting the water amount for flushing

The water amount and water pressure for flushing can be adjusted using
a valve.
1. Open the maintenance flap (A) on the base of the water unit.
2. Adjust the water amount with the control knob C.
4.7.4 Self-sufficient water supply
Self-sufficient water supply
If the water quality of the public water supply is not suitable for the
treatment of patients, a treatment center with sufficient water supply can
be operated.
In this case, distilled water is mixed with DENTOSEPT P disinfectant in a
100:1 ratio (1 liter of water, 10 ml DENTOSEPT P) and filled into the
disinfectant tank of the water unit. The disinfectant will reduce the
microbial growth in the water lines.
The sufficient water supply should be only set as temporary operating
state if municipal water is contaminated and not as permanent operating
state.
The unit can be further flushed with municipal water.
The self-sufficient water supply only functions when the treatment center
is equipped with an integrated water disinfection system.

CAUTION
Microorganisms can multiply in the water.
These microorganisms could increase the risk of damage to one's
health.
➢ Sirona recommends never operating the treatment center without
disinfectants.
➢ Check the amount of germs in water of the treatment center at
regular intervals. In particular, if no disinfectant is available or if
water is used in place of disinfectant. See “Microbiological water
test” [ → 170]
