5.6.1 Sanitize the treatment center
Sanitize the treatment center
Sanitation effectively combats the reproduction of microorganisms in the
water lines.
Sanitation must be performed:
Monthly sanitation
● regularly every 4 weeks
The display
Days until next sanitation appears in the footer of the
touchscreen. It first appears two days before the date of sanitation
(2d = 2 days until sanitation).
● after longer periods of disuse (> one week)
● if the germination index exceeds 100 germs per milliliter
"Microbiological water test" [ → 170].
● after changing self-sufficient water supply to municipal water and
DENTOSEPT P disinfectant during operation
If the equipment is being operated with a self-sufficient water supply,
sanitation can only be carried out manually. For more information, please
refer to the section titled "Self-sufficient water supply" [ → 135].
Sanitation comprises several phases and takes at least 24 hours.
Additional devices, sanitation with disinfectant
Preparation
The following preparations should be made prior to beginning sanitation.
1. Set all burr drives and the SIROSONIC TL scaler to the maximum
water flow rate.
2. Put all instruments and suction hoses in place.
3. Do not remove the tumbler holder from the cuspidor.
NOTICE
Additional devices connected to the external device connection must
not be sanitized with the treatment center.
Additional devices can be damaged. Residues of DENTOSEPT P
disinfectant can remain in the additional devices.
➢ Disconnect any additional devices from the treatment center prior to
sanitation.
