Break-in
Operate the engine under load (in gear with a propeller installed)

or 10 hours.

For the first hour of operation:
Operate the engine at varying speeds up to 2000 r/min or approx-
imately 1/2 throttle.

For the second hour of operation:
Increase the engine speed until the boat is on plane (but do not
fully o
pen the throttle), and then back off on the throttle while
keeping the boat at a planing speed.

For the remaining 8 hours of operation:
Operate the engine at any engine speed. However, do not operate
the e
ngine at full throttle for more than 5 minutes at a time.

After the first 10 hours of operation:
Operate the engine normally.

After test run
Check for water in the gear oil.
Oil is milky
Check the lower case for airtightness and oil seal.

Check all the fuel lines for leakage.

k the connection or replace affected parts.

Flush the cooling water passages using fresh water. When using
the e
quipped flashing device, flush the cooling water passages
without starting the engine.
