Panel Clear Sensors
There are two to four Panel Clear Sensors within the Main Cabinet. If the 5DX has
a middle rail installed, there will be four panel clear sensors. Otherwise, there
should only be two. The Panel Clear Sensors are positioned close to the movable
barriers. The purpose of the Panel Clear Sensor is to detect a panel when the XYZ
Stage Assembly is in the load or unload positions. They prevent the outer barrier
from closing on a panel.

The Panel Clear Sensors are inputs to the Digital I/O Assembly. The input bits
associated with the Panel Clear Sensors are listed in Table 5-6. The input can be
monitored by running Utilities > Service > Panel Handling > Hardware
Control from the 5DX menu. The sensors are visually represented on the Panel
Transport tab by circles near the outer barriers. A white circle indicates a clear
sensor while a black circle indicates a blocked sensor.
