Applied Biosystems instruments.
Safety Symbols
The following table describes the safety

ymbols that may be displayed on
Applied Biosystems instruments. Each symbol may appear by itself or in combination
with text that explains the relevant hazard (see “Safety Labels on Instruments” on
page xvi). These safety symbols may also appear next to DANGERS, WARNINGS,
and CAUTIONS that occur in the text of this and other product-support documents.

Indicates the On position of the
main power switch.
Indicates a protective
grounding terminal that must
be connected to earth ground
before any other electrical
connections are made to the
instrument.
Indicates the Off position of the
main power switch.
Indicates the On/Off position of
a push-push main power
switch.
Indicates a terminal that can
receive or supply alternating
current or voltage.
Indicates a terminal that may
be connected to the signal
ground reference of another
instrument. This is not a
protected ground terminal.
Indicates a terminal that can
receive or supply alternating or
direct current or voltage.
