Machine Settings
This section describes the items you can set or change in the Fax settings or Device settings menu
available by pressing the
Menu
button.
For details on setting or changing, refer to the on-screen manual:

Fax settings
Receive mode set.
Selects a receive mode for faxing.
Memory reference
Allows you to print faxes in the memory, save them on the USB flash drive, and delete them from the
memory.
Print reports/lists
Prints the history of sent and received faxes and lists such as telephone number lists and user's
data lists.
TEL no. registration
Registers a fax/telephone number for a coded speed dial, group dial, and reject number.
FAX user settings
Configures the settings necessary before using the fax, such as user information and telephone
line type.
Advanced FAX settings
Configures the advanced settings for sending/receiving faxes, such as Auto redial, Dial tone detect,
etc.

Auto print settings
Configures the settings for automatically printing reports such as Activity reports, TX/RX reports, etc.
and received documents.
The setting for whether to continue printing when ink runs out is also available.
Security control
Configures the functions for preventing fax transmission to wrong destination and unsolicited faxes.
These functions include fax number re-entry and fax reception reject.

Device settings
Print settings
Prevent abrasion
Use this setting only if the print surface becomes smudged.
Extended copy amt.
Selects the amount of image that extends off the paper when selecting Borderless copy in Special
copy.
AutoPhotoFix setting
Used when printing from a PictBridge compliant device, selects whether or not to prioritize the Exif
information saved on a photo. This setting will be enabled when Auto photo fix is selected for Photo
fix in PictBridge settings.
