Front End Unit
5-3-1 General Information
The Vivid™ S5 N and Vivid™ S6 N Front End system (see diagram in Figure 5-4 "Front End - Block
Diagram" on page 5-7) can be divided into two subsystems:
1.) Scanner Subsystem
Includes the following:
- RFI_AM Board (Scan Controller and tissue processing)

2.) Front End Subsystem
Includes the following:
- Two TR32 Boards (each board includes a 32-channel digital Beamformer)
For a detailed description, see 5-3-4 "TR32 Boards (Transmitter/Receiver)" on page 5-14.
- PSB (Probe Select Board) - includes HVMUX
For a detailed description, see 5-3-5 "Probe Select Board (PSB)" on page 5-17.
