10-4-2 Functional Checks
The functional checks take approximately 60 minutes to perform. Refer to the Vivid S5 N / Vivid S6 N
User Manual whenever necessary.
NOTE: Refer also to Chapter 4 - Functional Checks, for additional details about the functional checks described
in this section.

Verify basic Doppler operation (PW and CW if available).
Check the basic system controls that affect this mode of operation.

Verify basic M-Mode operation.
Check the basic system controls that affect this mode of operation.

Applicable Software Options

Verify the basic operation of all optional modes such as Dual Focus, Virtual convex on
linear probes, SRI, ATO/ASO, APRO, CPI, Compound, AMM, LOGIQ View, B-Flow/BFI,
Stress Echo, TVI/TT, TSI, IMT, LVO Contrast, Vasc./Abd. Contrast, OB Package... etc.
Check the basic system controls that affect the operation of each option.

Probe Elements
Perform an Element Test on each probe to verify that all the probe elements and system
channels are functional.

System Diagnostics
Perform the Automatic Test to verify that all boards are functioning according to
specifications.

Xmit/Recv Elements
Use the Visual Channel Utility on the 12L probe to verify that all system
xmit/recv channels are functional.

Keyboard Test Perform the Keyboard Test Procedure to verify that all keyboard controls are OK.

LCD Display
Verify basic LCD display functions.
