Message operation (Continued)
D Transmitting a message
You can transmit a pre-entered text message by push-
ing [PTT]. First, select a TX message, which also turns
ON the message transmission function.
q Push [MENU] .
w Push D-pad() to select the root item (“My Station”),
and then push D-pad(Ent).

e Push D-pad() to select “TX Message, and then
push D-pad(Ent).
r Push D-pad() to select message memory number
1 to 5.
To turn OFF the message transmission function, select
“OFF.
t After selecting, push D-pad(Ent).
y Push [MENU] to exit the MENU screen.
RX message display function
As the default, the received message is automatically
displayed and scrolled on the LCD.
To not display and scroll the received message, turn
OFF the RX message display function in “RX Mes-
sage” of the MENU screen. (p. 16-82)
(MENU > Display > RX Message)
The received mes-
sage is displayed
and scrolled here.
TIP:
The message is transmitted along with your voice
signal.
The message is transmitted each time you push
[PTT].
The message is automatically transmitted every 30
seconds during continuous transmission.
