Figure 5.99: Center Guards
4. Position the plastic wearplate (if applicable),
replacement center guard (A), the adjuster bar, and top
guide (B) onto the cutterbar. Install bolts, but do NOT
tighten.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure center guard (A) (right of the cutterbar split) has
offset cutting surfaces.
NOTE:
Top guide (B) must accommodate the two overlapping
knives at the center guard location. Ensure the proper
replacement guard is installed at this location.
5. Check and adjust the clearance between the hold-down
and knife. Refer to Checking Pointed Guard Hold-
Downs, page 447.
