Installing Knife Drive Belts
The procedure for installing untimed knife drive belts is the same for both sides of the header.
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of machine, always stop engine and remove key
before making adjustments to machine.

1. Shut down the combine, and remove the key from the
ignition.
2. Route knife drive belt (A) around knife drive box
pulley (C) and knife drive pulley (B). Use the notch in
the pulley to assist with the belt installation.
NOTE:
Ensure the drive motor is fully forward, do NOT pry the
belt over the pulley.

3. Tension the knife drive belt. Refer to Checking and
Tensioning Knife Drive Belts, page 464.
4. Install access cover (A) and secure with bolt.
5. Close the endshield. Refer to Closing Endshields, page
34.

IMPORTANT:
To prolong the belt and drive life, do NOT overtighten the belt.
1. Shut down the combine, and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Open the left endshield. Refer to Opening Endshields, page 33.
