The PATHWAY fMRI filter is an electronic filter designed to reduce magnetic noise from the MR
environment, which might be transferred to the Thermode. The fMRI filter includes:
8 UNC-2Api, C2L filters and Feed-Thru Capacitors with the following specifications:
Damping: 10MHz/14dB, 100MHz/55dB, and 1GHz/70dB.
Voltage: up to 200V.
Current: up to 15A.
2 filters with the following specifications:
Damping: 1MHz/10 dB, 10MHz/38 dB, and 100MHz- 1GHz10GHz/75 dB.
Voltage: up to 100V.
Current: up to 10A.
The filters are located in an Aluminum Cylinder, and they should be
installed in an approximately 2.5” hole in the MRI room.
The fMRI Thermode is “MR Conditional”. An extended 10 [m] cable connects between the
PATHWAY system, which is located outside of the MRI control room, and the Thermode that is
located in the MRI room.
"MR Conditional" means an item that has been demonstrated to pose no
known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions
of use.
There are two different configurations for fMRI filter setup: CHEPS filter
and ATS filter.
The following section describes the installation of CHEPS fMRI filter
configuration.
Installation of ATS fMRI configuration is similar, excluding the
connection of the CHEPS sensor connectors.
