27.2 Faulty System Responses
Table 45: Faulty System Responses
The Thermode does not heat up, and remains at room
temperature or cold. The PATHWAY Temperature status,
displayed on status bar, indicates a temperature other than
the current Rest Mode temperature.
The malfunction may be caused due to loss of communication
or due to a fault in the Thermode, System or the main
voltage supplied to the System.
1. Check communication between the System and
computer. Verify that Medoc Main Station is working in
ON-LINE mode.
2. Verify that the Emergency button is not pushed in.
3. Verify that the PATHWAY system is not in Safe Mode
(Safety indicator, in status bar, is GREEN) – run the
system Self-Test to switch to Rest Mode
4. Power OFF the PATHWAY system, and replace the
Thermode if available
5. Power ON the PATHWAY system and check if the
Thermode heats up.
PATHWAY system will
not turn ON (Power
failure)
1. Check if the fuses need to be replaced (refer to the
Service Manual for further information).
2. Check that the power cable is not damaged. Make sure it
is connected properly to the PATHWAY inlet.
3. When turning PATHWAY ON, check if the green light on
the main switch is on.
4. Make sure the electronic box power switch is ON (open
the top left back door to get access to the electronic box
power switch).
If the problem persists, contact Medoc service.
Constant Communication
problems
1. Check that the COM port selection is set to ‘Auto Detect’
(Refer to section 10.1.1 for more information)
2. Check the power cables (see power failure above)
3. Check that the communication USB cable is connected
properly to the computer and PATHWAY. Switch to
another USB port on the computer if available
4. Check that the communication driver installed:
5. Turn ON PATHWAY and connected the USB cable to the
computer
6. Open the computer device manager and check the driver
is listed under ‘Ports (COM & LPT)’ as: Silicon Labs
CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM#)
7. Start Medoc Main Station can’t be established, select the
specific COM port from the list.
8. Update PATHWAY firmware (Refer to the Service Manual
for further information)
