7.7.2 Pulses
In this method, the temperature rises or falls at a very rapid rate, and then returns to a
predefined starting point of a new pulse. For an example graph and an explanation of the
method, refer to section 2.8.2, page 34.
Figure 38: Program Menu – Pulses
The table below describes the program parameters available for Pulses method:
Table 15: Program Parameters
Temperature from which each new stimulation sequence begins.
ATS: 10°C – 45°C
CHEPS: 30°C – 45°C
Time before
sequence (sec)
The time interval before the first trial. Valid range: 0 to 600 (sec).
Trigger mode:
Automatic – the stimulus will start automatically after the
defined Inter Stimulus Interval (ISI).
Manual – The operator must initiate the onset of the
stimulus after the defined ISI (using the manual trigger,
keyboard shortcuts or TTL-IN)
High destination
temp (°C)
Defines the high destination temperature for all trials in the current
sequence. Valid range is limited by safety limitations and depends on
the duration time.
Low destination
temp (°C)
Defines the low destination temperature. Relevant if there is more
than one pulse per trial.
