Pathway Technical Reference Manual
Proprietary 77 of 190
Defines the temperature change rate during the search period.
Defines the duration of the search period. Valid range: 1 to 600
The number of trials per sequence. Valid range: 1 to 100
Minimum Inter-Stimulus-Interval (ISI). Valid range: 0 to 600 (sec)
Maximum Inter-Stimulus-Interval (ISI). Valid range: 0 to 600 (sec).
Actual ISI will be randomized between min and max values.
Different evens which can be indicated during the test via TTL or
Sound. See section7.8
Indicate different temperature points via TTL or Sound. See
section 7.9
7.7.4 Limits
In this method, the system generates a number of stimuli of continuously changing intensity.
With each stimulus, when the subject perceives a predefined sensation, he/she manually stops
the stimulus. For an explanation of the method, refer to section 2.8.4, page 36.
Figure 40: Program Menu – Limits
The table below describes the program parameters available for Limits method:
Table 17: Program Parameters
Defines the direction of stimuli: temperature will decrease for Cold
Sensation (CS) and Cold Pain (CP), and increase for Warm Sensation
(WS) and Hot Pain (HP).
