24.3.3 Configuring the redundancy role
Where an integrated FN2012
A1 is connected to the station, redundancy
management must be configured in Engineering Tool. It cannot be configured in
the web interface of the FN2012-A1.
ϖ The FN2012-A1 has a valid IP address within the sub-net.
ϖ The PC has access to the FN2012-A1 / is located within the same sub-net as
the FN2012-A1.
ϖ The web interface has been commissioned and the initial password changed.

1. Open the web interface of the FN2012-A1 in the Internet browser.
2. In the web interface of the FN2012-A1, select the 'Configuration' tab.
3. Select the relevant role in the 'Redundancy role' field.
– If there are multiple FN2012-A1 devices on the Ethernet ring, one FN2012-
A1 must be designated as 'Manager' and all the other FN2012-A1 devices
granted the 'Client' role.
4. Save the settings with 'Save changes'.
24.3.4 Activating/deactivating local ports
Deactivate any local ports of the FN2012-A1 that are not being used to prevent
unauthorized persons from accessing the FN2012-A1 and the system via these
local Ethernet ports.

ϖ The PC has access to the FN2012-A1 / is located within the same sub-net as
the FN2012-A1.
ϖ The web interface has been commissioned and the initial password changed.

1. Open the web interface of the FN2012-A1 in the Internet browser.
2. In the web interface of the FN2012-A1, select the 'Configuration' tab.
3. In accordance with how the ports have been assigned, select 'Disabled' to
deactivate local ports P2, P3, P4, or P5, or 'Enabled' to activate them.
4. Save the settings with 'Save changes'.
A1 to the factory setting automatically activates all local
ports. To reset it to the factory setting, press the RESET button for >5 s but <10 s.
