24.3.5 Activating fault monitoring for local ports
ports are not monitored for faults. Fault monitoring cannot be
configured for deactivated ports.
ϖ The FN2012-A1 has a valid IP address within the sub-net.
ϖ The PC has access to the FN2012-A1 / is located within the same sub-net as
the FN2012-A1.
ϖ The web interface has been commissioned and the initial password changed.

1. Open the web interface of the FN2012-A1 in the Internet browser.
2. In the web interface of the FN2012-A1, select the 'Fault Mask' tab.
3. For local ports P2 to P5, select the appropriate type of fault monitoring: 'None',
'Link up', or 'Link down'.
– Activate 'Link down' monitoring for all the ports to which FS20 stations have
been connected.
Do not activate fault monitoring for local ports to which a management station has
been connected. With fault monitoring for local ports to which a management
station has been connected, a fault is displayed every time the management
station is restarted.
Activate fault monitoring only for ports to which FS20 stations have been
connected.
24.3.6 Activating port mirroring
NOTICE
Network settings may be disabled
When port mirroring is activated, this may disable the configured network settings.
Only use port mirroring for troubleshooting purposes for a limited period of time.
The network data traffic of source ports can be mirrored to a monitor port in order
to troubleshoot faults. Appropriate software can be used to record and save the
corresponding data traffic for subsequent fault analysis.
ϖ You have specified a pre-configured IP address for the Ethernet switch
(modular) or configured the IP address manually.
ϖ You have already commissioned the web interface.
1. Open the web interface of the Ethernet switch (modular).
2. Select the 'Configuration' tab.
3. Check the 'Enable port mirroring' checkbox.
4. Select the source ports and the monitor port.
5. Confirm your entries with 'Save changes'.
You have activated port mirroring.
