29.8.7 Service device FDUD29x
In this chapter, 'service device' refers to the following devices:
● Detector exchanger and tester FDUD292
● Intelligent detector tester FDUD293
Service devices FDUD29x with firmware version <2.0 must be updated to
firmware version 2.0. To do this, contact your Siemens contact partner. From
firmware version 2.0, it is possible to update firmware as described below.
Preparation
ϖ The driver for the MCL-USB adapter FDUZ221 or FDUZ227 is installed on the
PC.
ϖ The service device FDUD29x has firmware version 2.0.
1. Select 'File' > 'Import new resource package'.
2. In the selection window, open the most recent file with the corresponding
language F-FXS2007-XX_x_x_...zip.
Updating the firmware
Check the COM port setting under '
Options
' > '
Preferences
' > '
Periphery update
'
before performing the firmware update.
1. Select 'Update' > 'Periphery update wizard'.
2. In the 'Password check' window, enter the password '1234' and click on the
'Next' button.
3. Select the FDUD29x in the 'Devices:' field.
4. Switch off the FDUD29x.
5. Connect the PC to the FDUD29x via the MCL-USB adapter.
1. Press buttons '1' and '3' on the device simultaneously and at the same time
switch on the device. SintesoWorks establishes the connection to the device
and sets the device to update mode.
 The orange LED on the FDUD29x flashes.
2. Release the '1' and '3' buttons.
3. Click on 'Next'.
 The latest firmware package and the latest firmware version are suggested.
