21.19 Using a detector exchanger and tester or an
intelligent detector tester
In this chapter, 'service device' refers to the following devices:
● Detector exchanger and tester FDUD292
● Intelligent detector tester FDUD293
The service device has the following functions:
● Easy testing of the detector without first switching the corresponding 'Zones',
'Sections', or 'Areas' in to test mode
● Checking of loop communication when a detector has been replaced
Enabling communication with the service device
1. Select the 'Topology' > 'Hardware tree' menu item via the main menu on the
'Station' ↑ Person Machine Interface.
2. Select the 'Station'.
3. Press the 'More Options' softkey.
4. Select 'Execute commands'.
5. Select the 'Enable MC link' command.
Communication between the service device and the 'Station' is enabled.
Testing detectors
Test the detectors according to the information in the following documents:
● Detector exchanger and tester FDUD292: Document 007227
● Intelligent detector tester FDUD293: Document 009718
In these documents you will find a description of the various test variants and the
operation of the service device. See chapter 'Applicable documents'.
Checking loop communication of a replaced detector
After replacing a detector, check its loop communication according to the
information provided in the following documents:
● Detector exchanger and tester FDUD292: Document 007227
● Intelligent detector tester FDUD293: Document 009718
Ending communication with the service device
Proceed as described under 'Enabling communication with the service device' and
select the 'Disable MC link' command.
