29.2.4 Updating several 'Stations' simultaneously
You can update the firmware of max. eight networked ↑ 'Stations' and ↑ CPU
cards simultaneously. The 'Stations' and the CPU cards must be connected to one
another via FCnet/LAN.
Examples:
● A modular 'Station' (e.g. FC2080) has two CPU cards FCC2004 and an
operating unit. The CPU cards and the operating unit are connected to the
communication card (FC2080) FCC2005 via an Ethernet cable.
● Several 'Stations' are connected to each other via one or several 'Ethernet
switch (MM) FN2008-A1'.
You will find additional information about the individual steps on the specified
pages.
ϖ You are familiar with the information in chapter 'Preparation and security
[➙ 117]'.
ϖ A ↑ GAP with DHCP is configured for the connection with the PC via
FCnet/LAN.
ϖ The ↑ 'Stations' and the ↑ CPU cards and the communication card are
networked with one another.
ϖ You can update not more than eight 'Stations' and CPU cards simultaneously.
1. Import the new firmware into SintesoWorks.
– Select the 'File' > 'Import new resource package' menu item and open the
file you want.
2. Load the configuration from the 'Station' or your archive to the PC. Link [➙ 32]
3. NOTICE! Data loss. Save the configuration data before updating the firmware.
– Saving the configuration data also backs up specific system data which is
only available on the 'Station'. This includes modified customer texts, time
stamps of recent alarms, or persistent commands.
4. Convert the configuration if necessary and rectify conversion faults.

5. Connect the PC to the communication card or to the Ethernet switch (MM)
FN2008-A1.
6. Update the firmware on the main CPU and the additional CPUs. Link [➙ 122]
– Set each 'Station' and CPU card individually in update mode. You can set
the 'Stations' and the CPU cards in update mode without any waiting time
one directly after the other.
– Wait until the updation of each 'Station' and CPU card is completed.
7. Initialize each 'Station' individually. Link [➙ 28] To do so, you must connect the
PC to each 'Station' locally. Link [➙ 27]
8. Test the firmware version on the additional CPUs on each 'Station'.
Link [➙ 137]
– Update the firmware, if required, of the additional CPUs again, if there is a
higher firmware version available. Link [➙ 134]
9. Load the configuration from the 'Station' to the PC. Link [➙ 32]
10. Disconnect the PC from the 'Station'. Link [➙ 27]
11. Restore the network connection, if required.
