65.13.1 Using the atkz -u Debug Command
Note: You only need to use the atkz -u command if the default system database is
damaged.
1 Restart the Zyxel Device.
2 When “Press any key to enter debug mode within 3 seconds.” displays, press a key to enter debug
mode.

3 Enter atkz -u to start the recovery process.

4 “Connect a computer to port 1 and FTP to 192.168.1.1 to upload the new file” displays on the screen.
Connect your computer to the Zyxel Device’s port 1 (only port 1 can be used).

5 The Zyxel Device’s FTP server IP address for firmware recovery is 192.168.1.1, so set your computer to use
a static IP address from 192.168.1.2 ~192.168.1.254.
6 Use an FTP client on your computer to connect to the Zyxel Device. For example, in the Windows
command prompt, type ftp 192.168.1.1. Keep the console session connected in order to see when
the default system database recovery finishes.
7 Hit enter to log in anonymously.
8 Set the transfer mode to binary (type bin).
