2.3.3 Protective grounding
Before connecting a power cord, apply protective grounding to prevent fire accidents
and/or electric shock.
When a 3-pole outlet is available:
Just insert attached 3-pole plug into the outlet. This completes the protective
grounding.
When a 2-pole outlet is available:
Insert attached 3-pole plug into the accompanying 3-pole-to-2-pole conversion
adapter, then insert the 2-pole plug of the adapter into the 2-pole outlet.
Then, connect the tip of the green ground lead coming from the adapter to the
ground potential. If this is difficult, connect the ground terminal on the rear
panel directly to the ground potential.

In case a 3-pole (ground-type 2-pole) power outlet is not available and it is
impossible to ground the green lead of the conversion adapter, use the ground
terminal on the rear panel for grounding.
WARNING
Powering on MT8820A without protective grounding may
cause human accidents due to electric shock. In case a 3-
pole (ground-type 2-pole) power outlet is not available,
connect the tip of the green ground lead coming from the
conversion adapter to the ground potential, or connect the
ground terminal on the rear panel before powering on
MT8820A.
