Synchronized Volume-Controlled
Ventilation with Pressure Support
(Optional)
Figure 66. Volume Mode Screen with Optional Pressure
Support
Pressure support is activated by entering a value for
the level of support using the >∆P
PS< parameter soft
key:
1. Press the >∆P
PS< soft key on the Volume mode
screen (1 in Figure 66). The key turns yellow,
and the last value that was set for pressure
support is displayed, together with the last value
set for the trigger sensitivity above it (2 in Figure
66). The “PressSupp” indication in the status
field flashes on and off (3 in Figure 66).
2. Turn the confirm knob to adjust the pressure
support to the desired value, and press the knob
to confirm (4 in Figure 66).
When the value is confirmed, the ”Press Supp”
indication in the status field stops flashing and is
displayed steadily.
If the patient was being ventilated without
synchronization when pressure support is activated,
synchronization will be activated automatically with
the last trigger setting used. The “sync” indication will
appear in the status field (3 in Figure 66).
Synchronization is maintained (trigger remains on at
the set value) when pressure support is deactivated
(set to “OFF”).
Pressure support (∆P
PS) is automatically deactivated
when the trigger is deactivated (set to “OFF”). Trigger
status is shown above the ventilation parameter soft
keys (2 in Figure 66).
