When the CO

apnea alarm cascade setting is
set to “Yes”, the priority of the alarm changes
depending on how long the alarm condition
has been active:
When the CO
2
apnea alarm cascade setting is
set to “No”, the alarm is always a Warning in
Man/Spont, Pressure Support, Aux. CGO, or
Monitoring mode.
Other Alarm Settings
These settings control the following alarm-related
functions; they can be set to “Yes” or “No”.
- a setting that determines whether or not the
alarm limits menu is automatically displayed
when an alarm limit is violated
- a setting that determines whether M
V and
Pulse alarm limits are to be preset in relation to
the patient’s ideal body weight and age
- a setting that determines the pressure at which
the warning “O
2
CYLINDER LOW” is
displayed. This setting appears only if the O
2
cylinder has been configured as a gas supply
(see “Gas Supply Checks” on page 156).
