5. Reset the absorbent change log to actual date
(see page 64).
Note: The disposable Drägersorb CLIC absorber
can also be used instead of the reusable
absorber described above.

1. Slide the bag arm assembly onto the breathing
bag port on the side of the breathing system (1 in
Figure 150).
2. Tighten the two thumb screws (2 in Figure 150)
to secure.
3. Attach the 90° fitting to the end of the bag arm (3
in Figure 150), and attach the breathing bag to
the other end of the fitting.
WARNING !
Do not flush dry gas continuously for
unnecessarily long periods through the soda
lime in the anesthesia system!
The soda lime will dehydrate. If the moisture
level falls below a minimum level, undesirable
reactions generally occur, regardless of the
type of soda lime and the inhalation anesthetic
used:
• reduced CO
2
absorption
• increased heat generation in the absorber
and therefore, increased breathing gas
temperature
• CO formation
• Absorption or breakdown of the inhalation
anesthetic agent
These reaction can endanger the patient.
