Apollo Cleaning and Disinfection
This section of the manual provides complete
instructions for the disassembly and cleaning of the
Apollo anesthesia machine.
Note: Set the Apollo to Standby before
disassembly.

Removing the sample line
• Disconnect the sample line from the Y-piece
and the fitting on the water trap (see Figure
132).

• Pull the water trap straight out of its holder.
CAUTION !
Sample gas lines are single-use articles and must
not be disinfected.
Disinfectants can damage the sample gas line and
the diaphragm of the water trap.
WARNING !
The water trap must be replaced after a service
life of four weeks.
The diaphragm could become brittle after an
extended period of use, allowing water and
bacteria to get into the measurement system.
The contamination affects the gas
measurement, or the gas measurement may fail
as a result.
CAUTION !
Do not allow any alcohol or cleaning agents/
disinfectants to come into contact with the inside of
the water trap.
Do not wash, flush or sterilize the water trap.
These substances can damage the diaphragm and
the measurement system.
