rotate freely and at high speed. Take care not to short-circuit the two cables connected to the battery.

Undo the screws (D) and remove the sprocket cover (C).
Remove the generator cover (Sect. 9 - 8, Removal of the generator cover).
Undo the nut (A).
Disconnect the starter motor/solenoid cable (3) (see table in paragraph “
Routing of wiring on frame”, Sect. 6 - 1).
Unscrew the retaining screws (1).
