HARDWARE TESTS
If the hardware test fails, replace the failing part.
Panel Test
This test verifies the function of the control panel display.
1 Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
Hardware Tests > Panel Test
2 Exit the test.
Button Test
This test verifies the function of each button on the control panel.
To run the test for non‑touchscreen models:
1 Enter the Diagnostics Menu, and then navigate to:
HARDWARE TESTS > Button Test
2 Press appears on the panel and an icon matching one of the control panel buttons. Press the physical button that
matches the icon to start testing for its function.
3 Exit the test.
To run the test for the touch screen models:
1 Enter the Diagnostics Menu, and then navigate to:
HARDWARE TESTS > Button Test
A pattern matching the control panel buttons appear on the display.
2 Press the control panel button to highlight the represented button on the display.
3 Release the button to remove the highlight.
4 Exit the test.
DRAM Test
This test checks the validity of the standard and optional dynamic random access memory (DRAM). The test repeatedly
writes patterns of data to the DRAM to verify that each bit in the memory can be set and read correctly.
1 Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
HARDWARE TESTS > DRAM Test
2 Testing and resetting the printer messages appear on the display.
3 After the printer resets, the results of the test appear: DRAM Test [x] P:###### F:######.
• [x] represents the size of the installed DRAM.
• P:###### represents the number of times the memory test passed and finished successfully.
The maximum pass count is 999,999.
