3.4 Daily Startup Check
Perform the following checks each day before startup:
CAUTION
• Ensure tractor and mower conditioner are properly attached, all controls are in neutral, and tractor
brakes are engaged.
• Clear the area of other persons, pets etc. Keep children away from machinery. Walk around the mower
conditioner to make sure no one is under, on, or close to it.
• Wear close fitting clothing and protective shoes w ith slip resistant soles. As w ell, carry with you any
protective clothing and personal safety devices that could be necessary throughout the day. Don't
take chan ces.
• Remove foreign objects from the machine and surrounding area.
Protect yourself. You may need the following:
• A hard hat
• Protectiv e footwear with slip resistant soles
• Protectiv e glasses or go ggles
• Heavy gloves
• Wet weather gear
• A respirator or filter mask

Use proper hearing protection
• Be aware that exposure to loud noise can cause
impairment or loss of hearing. Wear suitable hearing
protection devices such as ear muffs or ear plugs to
help protect against objectionable or loud noises.
