Inspecting the by-pass valve
- Check the unloaded spring length.
- Check that the small piston is not scored.
- Ensure that it slides freely on the crankcase and
that it guarantees a good seal.
- If not, eliminate any impurities or replace defec-
tive parts.

Refitting the oil sump
- Check the correct position of alignment dowels

- Fit a new gasket «2».
- Fit the by-pass piston and spring «3».
- Assemble the oil sump by tightening the seven
fixing screws and be careful with the plate indica-
ted.
- Tighten to the specified torque.
