Updating the firmware with the Reset button on the device
ϖ The FN2012-A1 has a valid IP address within the sub-net.
ϖ The PC has access to the FN2012-A1 / is located within the same sub-net as
the FN2012-A1.
ϖ The FN2012-A1 is connected to a sub-net containing at least one station.
ϖ SintesoWorks is switched on.
ϖ 'SintesoWorks' is connected to the sub-net.
ϖ The FN2012-A1 is not in repeater mode (rotary switch position 'E').
1. Start the firmware update in SintesoWorks:
– Select the 'Update' > 'FW update main CPU'' menu item.
– Select the required firmware version in the 'Update package:' field.
– Select 'Initiate update at station'.
2. Hold down the Reset button on the FN2012-A1 for 10 seconds.
After 5 s, the FAULT LED switches on.
After 10 s, the FAULT LED switches off.
The firmware of the FN2012-A1 is updated.
The FAULT LED on the FN2012-A1 shows the status of the firmware update.

FW Update Failed ● Ethernet switch tries to establish the connection again to load the FW.
● Restart the FW update via SintesoWorks.
Checksum Failed ● Restart the FW update via SintesoWorks.
Fatal FAULT ● Carry out a reset. If unsuccessful, there is a hardware fault.
● Replace Ethernet switch. Check whether other error messages are displayed
in the FS20 system.
