Overview of an instrument reset (restore factory default)
IMPORTANT! Back up the instrument before resetting the instrument (see “Back up the instrument”
on page 181). Transfer plate files and data files (see Chapter 6, “View and manage files”). Plate files and
data files are not included in a backup of the instrument.
Resetting the instrument deletes the following information:
•
Instrument pr
ofiles
•
User-created plate files and data files
•
Custom dyes
•
Custom melt calibrations
The following information is retained if the instrument is reset:
•
System templates
•
The last known calibrations, including expired calibrations
Reset the instrument (restore factory default)
IMPORTANT! Back up the instrument before resetting the instrument (see “Back up the instrument”
on page 181). Plate files and data files are not backed up. Transfer plate files and data files (see
Chapter 6, “View and manage files”).

Restart the instrument when prompted.
Request remote support
Remote support grants a support representative the ability to access the instrument remotely.
A Support representative can perform the following functions during a remote support session:

Use a pointer that displays on the touchscreen
•
Draw on the touchscreen
•
Capture an image of the touchscreen
•
Capture a recording of the touchscreen
•
Control the instrument via the touchscreen
•
Send keyboard inputs
•
Annotate on the touchscreen
•
View instrument disk space and memory information
The instrument must be connected to the internet to use remote support.
Contact Support to receive a PIN prior to beginning a remote support session.
