Agilent Nano Indenter G200 User’s Guide 6-69
Setting the Surface Marker
Markers are used to designate specific data points within a test for the
purpose of other calculations. Markers are labeled in the graph by a
colored diamond icon in the graph next to an alphanumeric character.
The color of the marker and the alphanumeric character are defined in
the test method.
The most important marker is the surface marker, which indicates the
first data point for which the indenter was in contact with the surface of
the sample. The surface marker is moveable; that is, you can change its
position by placing the crosshairs on a new data point and depressing
the associated key on the keyboard.
Make sure that the Crosshair toggle command is turned on:
1 Right-click anywhere on the graph.
2 Select Crosshair so that it has a check by it, as shown in
Figure 6-93.

3 Zoom in on the data point to which you want to move the surface
marker by clicking and dragging a zoom box around the set of data
points that include the target data point, as shown in
Figure 6-94 on
page 6-70. Repeat this step until the target data point can be singled
out.
