Agilent Nano Indenter G200 User’s Guide 6-68
Cleaning the Tip
To clean the tip, use one of the following three methods:
Best Method
Perform a microscope-to-indenter calibration according to the
instructions in
"Microscope to Indenter Calibration" on page 6-55 in
Chapter 4, "NanoSuite".
Alternative Method 1
1 Mount a few lengths of standard transparent or semitransparent tape
with the sticky side up on a sample disk.
2 Mount the disk in an available hole in the sample tray.
3 Either do a standard indentation test on the tape or perform a
microscope-to-indenter calibration.
Alternative Method 2
1 Install the locking pins in the head.
2 Remove the tip from the head. Use care in handling tips because
contamination could occur. Forceps or tweezers are recommended
for use in handling tips, and then only by the indenter tip tab.
3 Place the tip in a beaker of isopropyl alcohol.
4 Place the beaker in an ultrasonic cleaner and run the cleaner for 5
minutes.
