5.4.9 Hose assemblies
! When positioning the hose assemblies, e.g. on the
work surface, always ensure that the area is clean.
Every time before connecting the hose assembly to
the CRI/CRIN or piezo CRI, always make sure the
hose connections are clean.
i All hose assemblies have a preinstalled strainer.
They collect contaminants which may appear du-
ring testing despite cleaning the CRI/CRIN or piezo
CRI. They are used in the hose assemblies for the
test oil return and the hose assembly for the injec-
tion chamber.
! Change the strainer in regular intervals (see main-
tenance intervals in chapter 8.2.1). If the strainer
is not changed in time, it might break under incre-
asing dynamic pressure. Any dirt building up will
no longer be stopped from entering the system and
damaging components.
Hose assembly 1684 462570 and hose fitting
The hose assembly 1684462570 (Fig. 9, item 1)
connect the injector return to the test connection for
the return quantity (see Fig. 3, item3). Different hose
fittings are available for connecting the hose assembly
to different types of injectors (see Fig. 9). These are
inserted into the hose assembly before connecting to
the injector.
For certain CRIN from Bosch, the "CRIN adapter with
check valve" (Fig. 9, item 9) must be used as well.
It is inserted into the test connection for the return
quantity (CRI/CRIN, piezo CRI; see Fig. 3, item3) prior
to starting the test and then connected to the hose
assembly 1684 462570 (Fig. 9, item 1).
i After the CRIN is selected, whether or not the
"CRIN adapter with check valve" (Fig. 9, item 9)
is needed for the test is displayed in the EPS 118
software.
! If the "CRIN adapter with check valve"
(Fig. 9, item 9) is not used in accordance with
the instructions or is connected incorrectly (e. g.
directly to the CRIN), a faulty measurement results,
leading to an incorrect evaluation of the CRIN.
