G. REMOVAL OF TRANSMISSION CASE
1. Remove the bolts from the transmission case.
2. Push the No. 1 shaft to separate the transmission case
(LH).

<When assembling>
• Apply a small amount of liquid gasket (Three Bond
1215 or equivalent) to the mounting surface of the
transmission case.
• Install the transmission case after removing the oil seal
from the transmission case (LH). Then, install the oil
seal to the No. 1 shaft. Apply a small amount of oil to
the inner side of the oil seal before installing it.
• When installing the 18-24-21 gear (2) to the No. 1 shaft,
make sure that it points the correct direction.
• Make sure to install the spacer (4) to the correct posi-
tion of the No. 2 shaft.
• When installing the 23516 gear (6) to the No. 2 shaft,
make sure that it points the correct direction.
• Install the spacer (9) (large inner I.D.) and the spacer
(10) (small outer I.D.) to the side clutch shaft (8). Make
sure they are installed correctly.

1.2.8 REMOVAL OF AXLE OIL SEAL
1. Loosen the bolt (1) and remove the plain washer (2).
2. Remove the drive pulley (3) from the axle.
3. Remove the dust-proof cover (4).
4. Remove the oil seal (5).
<When assembling>
• The shaft and axle case on the left side are longer than
the shaft and axle case on the right side.
• Tap on the oil seal with a tool until it contacts the side
of the axle case.
• Install the O-ring (7) to the axle case (6). Before install-
ing the O-ring, apply oil on it.
• Install the drive pulley so that its longer boss points the
axle case.
• Apply a small amount of LOCTITE to the mounting bolt
of the drive pulley.
